Voyage à Hong Kong et Macao
HK Macao express
Express comme mon visa, express comme la visite … ‘fast and furious’. Ceci dit, HK et Macao ne sont pas très étendus … pour quelques jours ça va très bien. Très international, anglais partout, gens sympa, bref un peu ‘la Chine sans trop y goûter’.
Express like my visa, express like the trip … fast and furious. However, HK and Macao are not very wide cities … a trip of a couple of days is OK. Very international, English spoken everywhere, nice people, a little bit ‘just a taste of China’.
Mercredi/Wednesday
Vol sans problème pour Shenzhen … il fait beau mais assez lourd (welcome in southern China … c’est que le début). Moi qui m’était inquiété pour le transfert, je dois avouer que c’est hyper simple : terminal de Fuyong en 10 minutes, puis bateau direct pour Kowloon (pour résumer, HK est constitue de l’île proprement dite et la péninsule de Kowloon).
En arrivant, premières impressions : super propre, dense, cosmopolite (beaucoup d’occidentaux et d’indiens) et très vertical. Du bateau, on se dit ‘sympa cette île montagneuse au loin’ et puis tout d’un coup apparaît un mur d’immeubles de 50 étages. Le territoire de Hong Kong est grand, mais très montagneux, donc tout est concentré (hyper concentré) sur une petite surface. L’avantage, c’est que les transports sont faciles du coup (le métro est parfait en plus). Je retrouve l’odeur et la moiteur tropicale de l’Inde. En galérant un peu (fatigue, chaleur et humidité) je trouve une chambre super pas chère dans le quartier de Causeway Bay.
Easy flight to Shenzhen … the weather is good but heavy (welcome in southern China … this is just the beginning). I worried about the transfer to Hong Kong, but I have to say that it is very simple: Fuyong terminal in 10 minutes, then direct boat for Kowloon (to be quick, HK is constituted by the HK island and the Kowloon peninsula). My first feelings: very clean, dense, cosmopolitan (a lot of Indians and Western people) and very vertical. From the boat, you think ‘oh, what a nice mountainous island’ and suddenly a wall of 50 stairs buildings appear. The Hong Kong territory is pretty big but very mountainous, so the city is densely concentrated. Thus, moving in Hong Kong is very easy (and the subway is just perfect). I find again the smell and the heat of India. Finally, I find a very cheap room in Causeway Bay.
Jeudi/Thursday
Direction le China Ressources Building, face à la baie. Vraiment, les gens de Hong Kong respectent les feux et les files d’attente, c’est super. Je m’occupe de mon visa express, puis j’en profite pour aller à l’endroit de la rétrocession de HK à la Chine, à 300 m de là.
I go to the China Resources Building, in front of the HK bay. Really, people of Hong Kong respect the lights and the queues, it’s really great. I manage my express visa, and then decide to go the place of a retrocession of HK to China (Convention center, 300 m from there).

Je pars ensuite acheter mon billet pour Macao, puis je flâne dans Sheung Wan (quartier des fruits de mer séchés, et Western market) dans ce qui fut la ville chinoise de Hong Kong Island (la plus grande étant Kowloon). Je rentre ensuite pour une petite sieste avant de visiter Victoria Park après avoir récupéré mon visa. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees !
I go then to buy my tickets to Macao, and have a walk in Sheung Wan (dried seafood street, and the Western market), which was before the Chinese quarter of HK island (the biggest one is the Kowloon district). After a short nap, I fetch my visa (yeeeeeeees!!) and visit the Victoria Park.
Le soir, je décide d’aller au Victoria Peak, le point le plus haut de l’île. Métro, puis marche dans le quartier d’affaires de Central au milieu des tours avant de prendre le tramway. Tramway a 45 degrés, impressionnant … on voit la ville de nuit, c’est tout simplement superbe !
On evening, I visit the highest point of HK island, the Victoria Peak. Subway, then walk in Central district (business center with very high towers) and tramway to the peak. The slope is 45 degrees, it’s really impressive. From the peak, the city at night is just awesome!

Vendredi/Friday
Petite séance de métro avant de prendre le ferry. Ca va très vite … en 1h a peine, voila déjà Macao (Bom dia :) ) … bon, autant le dire tout de suite, Macao c’est très petit, et très relax aussi. L’ambiance fait très Europe de Sud par endroit avec les rues encombrées de scooters, les dalles et les églises. Assez simple de se repérer, puisque les indications sont en chinois, portugais et anglais. Billet pour Shenzhen acheté, je fais le tour de la ville (palais du gouvernement, églises, jardins chinois).
The ferryboat to Macao is very fast … 1h, and this is already Macao (Bom dia J). Macao is very small and very relaxed compared to HK. The scenery looks like southern Europe with the narrow streets full of scooters, the pavements and the churches. It’s quite simple to find your way, as the indications are in Chinese, Portuguese and English. I walk around the city to see the government’s palace, a lot of churches, places and gardens.
La Chine n’est vraiment pas loin…franchement, on distingue même Zhuhai très bien. Par rapport à Hong Kong l’affairé, Macao fait penser à un village endormi. Bien sur, il y a les casinos, mais ils n’occupent pas toute l’île. Je passe quelques heures dans le jardin chinois de Lou Lim Loc, avant d’embarquer pour Shekou. Le bateau remue beaucoup, mais j’arrive a bon port. A l’aéroport, je trouve un billet d’avion pour le lendemain, en première classe s’il vous plait. Le retour à Pékin s’effectue sans histoires.
China is really not far away … in fact, Zhuhai is really really close. Compared to the busy Hong Kong, Macao looks like a sleepy village. Of course, there are the casinos but it’s located in a small part of the city. I spend several hours in the Lou Lim Loc garden, before boarding to Shekou. The vessel is moving a lot, but I arrive in mainland China in a good shape. At the airport, I find a ticket to Beijing for the next morning (first class, please :) ).
